Authors at the Pope: MEL ALLEN author of Here in New England

The Authors at the Pope Series continues with this evening event with MEL ALLEN, long-time editor of YANKEE Magazine, now retired, who has put together a book capturing some of his favorite stories.

Allen started at Yankee in 1979 as a writer and became its fifth editor in 2006. He has covered every corner of New England in that time and has many stories to tell but has picked 45 of his favorite to include in his first book, Here in New England: Unforgettable stories of people, places, and memories that connect us all.

The book has gotten much praise, including this gem from author Ann Hood, "This book is a love song to and a celebration of the unique people who call New England home."
