Support 137 Years of Community
We couldn’t be more excited to share all the wonderful things we are doing with our community as we kindly ask for your support. Your partnership supports our purpose: to be more than books.
Pope Memorial Library has served an essential role in Mt. Washington Valley for over 130 years. Today, our growth in size, staff and services provides unlimited opportunities to gather, engage, learn, create, explore and imagine.
As a 100% privately funded library, we do not regularly receive town, state or federal government funding and therefore depend on donations to ensure that the library remains free and open to the public. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our patrons, community members and library partners.
Our purpose is to be More Than Books. We advocate for literacy and a love of knowledge while strengthening community relationships through education, collaboration and connection. We offer safe, welcoming spaces for all, diverse resources, creative programming and beneficial services.
The library is open seven days a week with ample parking, friendly staff, and weekly programs, all on 3 spacious floors accessible by elevator. Please feel free to drop in and visit our bright, open spaces and see what we are all about!
SERVICES
Library visitors enjoy in-house services such as free WiFi, public computers, low-cost printing, meeting rooms, private workspaces and FREE basic tech help every Monday and more.
RESOURCES
We cover a lot of bases for the community with the AARP Tax Aide free tax preparation services, passport application and renewal fair, meeting space for homeschooling groups, Parkinson’s support group, women’s AA, first time home buying and construction seminars with local banks, home energy saving workshops, MWV Farmers Market FREEdge and more.
PROGRAMMING
The library is always buzzing with creative programming including history and nature programs, author events, book groups, craft programs, recipe club, sip & paint nights, children’s storytime, jigsaw puzzle competitions, art exhibits, music and more. There is so much more ... a complete list of our services, resources, programming and events can be found online.
