Squam Lakes Natural Science Center presents Hawks and Owls of New Hampshire, a live animal program at Pope Memorial Library on Monday, September 30th at 6pm.
Who calls in the night? Who glides around on shadowy wings in silent flight? Why are owls such extraordinary night hunters? Join a Science Center naturalist to meet live raptors that call New Hampshire home. Compare the fascinating similarities and differences between hawks and owls to discover how they are perfectly suited to the habitat niche they each fill.
Invited animal ambassadors may include the Barred Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Great Horned Owl, or Eastern Screech Owl. Learn about how their adaptions enable these magnificent animals to hunt silently and effectively, preying upon other creatures in the dark.
